Building Better Bonds Between Dogs and People

At LUOSKO, we believe training is not just about teaching commands—it’s about building trust, communication, and a lifelong bond between you and your dog. That’s why we created the LUOSKO K9 Academy, a dedicated arm of our rescue offering professional, reward-based training and behavioural support for dogs of all breeds, ages, and backgrounds.

Whether you're starting with a new dog, helping a rescue settle in, or addressing a specific behavioural challenge, our experienced trainers are here to help. We understand that every dog is unique, and we tailor our approach to suit the needs of both dog and owner.

What We Offer:

🐾 One-to-One Training Sessions
Perfect for dogs that need personalised attention or for owners who prefer private instruction. These sessions are ideal for tackling specific issues such as lead pulling, recall, jumping up, or general obedience.

🐾 Socialisation Support
For dogs who are nervous, reactive, or under-socialised, we offer carefully managed sessions to help them gain confidence around other dogs, people, and environments—at a pace that suits them.

🐾 Basic Obedience Training
Ideal for dogs of any age who need to learn (or revisit) the fundamentals. These sessions cover essential skills like sit, stay, recall, loose-lead walking, focus work, and calm behaviour—helping to create a well-mannered, responsive companion.

🐾 Behaviour Consultations
For more complex issues such as reactivity, fear-based behaviours, or anxiety, we offer full behavioural assessments and customised training plans, with ongoing support from our qualified team.

🐾 Safe, Enclosed Training Area
All sessions take place in our secure, purpose-built indoor enrichment and training area or in our private outdoor paddocks—providing a safe, calm environment for learning.

🐾 Kind, Ethical Training Methods
We only use positive, force-free techniques—no harsh methods or quick fixes. Our training is based on science, empathy, and respect for the dog as an individual.

Residential Puppy & Dog Training Programmes

Our intensive residential (board & train) programmes are designed to give your dog the best possible start — or a complete behavioural reset — in a structured, positive, and professional environment. Each programme includes daily, hands-on training sessions, socialisation, and enrichment tailored to your dog’s individual needs.

Before you can book any of our board & train programmes you and your dog will need to attend a board & train assessment, this is for us all to get to know each other and work out the best way forward. If you book a 2+ week course on the day of your assessment we will refund the assessment cost.

All our board & train programmes are on a limited basis, we add new spaces 3 months ahead ONLY.

🐾 FOUR Week Residential Training

Our most comprehensive programme is designed for dogs with entrenched or serious behavioural challenges. With four weeks of dedicated, professional training, we can make significant progress toward reshaping difficult behaviours and building trust.

Focus areas include:

Aggression (towards family members, dogs, or people), Severe reactivity, Extreme recall improvement, Resource guarding, Separation anxiety

This programme provides the time, structure, and consistency needed for meaningful, lasting behavioural change.

“But what if my dog only behaves for you?”
A fair question — and one we take seriously. This program is designed to include you every step of the way.

We start with an onboarding session to discuss your goals, assess your dog, and agree on a tailored plan. You’ll then receive daily updates throughout the stay, keeping you informed and involved. Training progress isn’t always linear, so we’ll share the highs and challenges honestly — transparency is key.

At the end of the stay, you’ll have a detailed handover session, where we show you exactly how to handle your dog, practise the techniques, and ensure you’re confident continuing the work at home. You’ll also receive a training plan and, yes — some homework!

Our results last best when you stay consistent, so we’ll check in afterwards to see how you’re doing, answer questions, and celebrate your progress.

What’s Included:

Personalised training plan and daily training sessions

24/7 supervision and structured care

Exposure to real-world environments

Regular progress updates

In-depth handover session and take-home plan

Ongoing post-program support

Our Board and Train programme is about creating lasting change — setting up new routines, building confidence, and strengthening the bond between you and your dog.
