Make a Difference Awards
By selecting the right dog for our potential adopters and by following our 7 point adoption process we ensure our dogs are placed with the best possible matched families and by building the bond early and eliminating issues before going home ensures we have a long and happy adoption.
Our lifetime rescue backup means we are their for our dogs and their new families for the rest of their lives.
We offer continual training, advice and even welcome dogs back for holidays.
When you adopt one of our dogs you become part of our extended family.
We have over 50 dogs in our care at any one time, this includes dogs here at our centre in Cheadle, as well as other private boarding establishments and foster homes.
Some of our dogs advertised may still be with their owners or even other rescues across the country or even abroad.
Check out some of the cute faces that are just waiting to meet you, but please remember we will match the right dog to your family.
Making the decision to give up your dog could be for one of one hundred reasons. We are not here to judge.
Priority for us, in the first instance is to see if we can help to keep the family unit together.
If rehoming is the only choice then we will do our best to help make the decision and process as easy as possible.
Please note we cannot always take dogs immediately but we will give you options, euthanasia is NOT one of them!
As a rescue charity mostly run by volunteers and funded by donations generously given by the general public, we always welcome volunteers and fundraisers from all walks of life.
From organising a sponsored walk to volunteering in our fundraising store or our kennels the jobs are endless.
Maybe you are a tradesperson, groomer or trainer that would like to volunteer some of your professional time.
We welcome those looking to gain work experience or placements for colleges and universities too.
Its always nice to know who you are dealing with! you will find everything you need to know about us in this section.

All sales raise funds for the rescue and as well as the shop we have a monthly on-line sale/auction on the last Sunday of each month. Larger Items available are on the website and can be viewed by appointment.
As well as our rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of German Shepherds we also offer other services to the general public:

Grooming our purpose built grooming room is available to hire or you can book in with one of our qualified groomers
These services are available to all breeds, not just German Shepherds.
Meet our ambassador
An introduction to LUOSKO
A short film by UHNM Charity Trust
ex Signal Radio DJ, and Sports Commentator
After being diagnosed with ME in his early teens, Jonty spent a lot of time either at home or in hospital. Spending more time at home is what has given him such a keen love for his dogs. At 17 he started to work for Signal Radio in Stoke on Trent and spent the next 10 years presenting and producing shows. Jonty's is well known to thousands of listeners who tuned in regularly for his radio show and Stoke City commentaries.
We are proud to have Jonty as our ambassador and patron. He regularly pops in at our centre to see how the dogs are getting on and is always ready to muck in.
In 2021 in conjunction with UHNM Charity Trust he made a short film highlighting our rescue efforts after which he was approached by the charity to become our very first ambassador and patron.
